A thing to consider: if you end up with a nose full of water and it feels like it's burning your nose, you probably did it wrong.
- Swim (freestyle) towards the wall.
- When you're above the "T", it's time to start the somersault. (the marker that tells you when to start your flip turn may differ from your pool and of course, your height) Also, make sure you have enough air before you tumble.
- Finish your stroke, kick one last kick, and tuck your head in- this is the most important part.
- Tuck your knees into your chest as tight as possible, and pull your feet to your butt.
- You'll find yourself on your back 6-18 inches under the water. This is exactly what should happen.
- Push off with both legs hard underwater, gradually turn around, and continue dolphin kicking until you resurface and continue freestyle.
