Random

Random means something proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern.  To get a sense of something that is random, it is something that has nothing to predict before, they only known once you look. Because of this, coin flips and rolling die are not intrinsically random; they are only random because of our ignorance. This is because if we could know every initial condition, the exact properties and conditions that play for a flip or roll, we could theoretically calculate the result before it even happens.  Sure enough, researchers have built coin-flipping robots which can precisely control a flip to get the result they want 100% of the time. We don't predict this often because it is extremely difficult. Large amounts of precision would be needed because the smallest difference between two initial conditions can be magnified overtime leading to chaotic extremely difficulty to predict results.
